These terms describe what you're getting when you use or buy College to Corporate, and what we expect of each other. They're written to be readable, not impressive. If anything here is unclear, email dan@thecommsstack.com and I'll explain.

Who runs this site

Never Miss The Memo is run by Dan Lewis ("we," "us," or "I" throughout these terms). You can reach me at dan@thecommsstack.com for anything related to the course, your purchase, or these terms.

What you're buying

Never Miss The Memo is a self-paced online course made up of 25 lessons. The first 5 lessons are free to anyone. The remaining 20 lessons unlock after a one-time payment of $99 (US dollars).

When you pay, you get lifetime access to all 25 lessons through this website. "Lifetime" means as long as the site is online — see "If the site goes away" below for what happens if that ever changes.

How payment works

• Payments are processed by Stripe. I never see or store your card details.
• The $99 price is a one-time charge. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no future charges.
• Sales tax may be added at checkout depending on where you live. Stripe handles this.
• Prices are in US dollars. If your card is in another currency, your bank handles the conversion.

Refunds

All sales are final. Because the course unlocks immediately and the content is digital, I don't offer refunds once a purchase goes through. Try the free lesson first to see if the style and substance work for you before you buy. If something is genuinely broken — you were double-charged, you can't access what you paid for — email dan@thecommsstack.com and I'll make it right.

Your account and your progress

Right now, the course doesn't require an account. Your progress (which lessons you've completed, your quiz answers, your draft assignments) is saved in your browser's local storage on the device you're using. That means:

• If you switch browsers or devices, your progress doesn't come with you yet.
• If you clear your browser data, your progress is erased.
• If you buy the course in one browser, the unlock applies to that browser. Email me if you need to transfer access to a different device.

Accounts that sync across devices are coming. When they launch, you'll be able to claim your existing progress into a new account.

What you can and can't do with the content

The lessons, illustrations, mascots (Barnum and Bailey), text, quizzes, and the design of this site are mine. You're welcome to:

• Use the course for your own learning, on any device you own.
• Quote a short passage with attribution (a sentence or two, with a link back).
• Print the certificate after you finish and share it however you like.

Please don't:

• Copy the course content into another site, course, or product.
• Share your unlocked access with other people. The $99 covers one learner.
• Scrape, automate, or republish the lessons or quiz answers.
• Use the course content to train a machine-learning model without permission.

The certificate

Finishing all 25 lessons unlocks a printable certificate of completion. It says you finished the course. It is not an accredited degree, college credit, or a professional certification, and it does not qualify you for any regulated profession. Use it the way you'd use a "finished the marathon" T-shirt — as a real thing you did, not as a license.

What the course is and isn't

Never Miss The Memo is an opinionated guide to working in an office for the first time. It's based on what's worked for me and people I've worked with. It is not legal advice, HR advice, financial advice, or career counseling tailored to your specific job. Your situation may need something different. Use your judgment.

If something breaks

I run this site as carefully as I can, but I can't promise it will always be online or bug-free. To the extent the law allows, the course and the site are provided "as is," without warranties. If the course causes you some unexpected loss, the most I can be on the hook for is the amount you paid me — $99, or $0 if you only used the free lessons.

If the site goes away

I plan to keep this online for a long time. If I ever decide to shut it down, I'll give paying customers at least 60 days of notice and a way to download the lesson content before access ends.

Changes to these terms

If I update these terms, the "Last updated" date at the top changes. Material changes (anything that affects your refund, your access, or what you're allowed to do with the content) will also be announced by email if you've given me one.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If we ever have a dispute we can't resolve by email, it will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York.
